Leeds College of Building
Leeds College of Building has provided an approved centre service to a variety of glass and construction related companies for many years.
A decision was taken in 2002 to extend this service by becoming a GQA Centre offering the Fenestration Installation and Surveying, Glazing Installation and Maintenance and Production of Glass Supporting Fabrications GQA NVQs.
These qualifications are offered to Experienced Workers (through the On-Site Assessment and Training OSAT provision) employed in the Glazing Industry who have acquired the Skills and Knowledge over a number of years, but have no formal qualifications to confirm their competence. The achievement of the appropriate NVQ will also enable the employee to obtain the CSCS card, which complies with the Major Contractors Group initiative.
