ARTICLES IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN (LINKED TO NATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS)
Press releases and promotional materials across the sectors that contain inaccurate information related to the implementation and achievement of qualifications don’t promote confidence and well being!
Such articles in the extreme can make statements that can only be described as untrue, whether this is by design or accident is difficult to judge. Some published articles have included:
• targets that seem impossible to achieve
• poor knowledge of standards development and qualification derivation and implementation
• wrong qualification titles
• incorrect statements on centre status
• incorrect use of qualification language
Some of these may be marketing ‘hype’ but never-the-less, when read by those in the know, they could throw not only a centre or company reputation into disrepute, but could also cause a lack of governmental confidence in the provision of funding to aid implementation of national qualifications to upskill the UK workforce.
We (GQA) would seek to preview any marketing material and / or press releases that relate to our qualifications to ensure that information contained within is correct and credible.
Any drafts can be forwarded to GQA (info@gqaqualifications.com) for comment by either Allan Murray or Mick Clayton. Whilst we do not wish to change intended content of centre materials, it is important that we uphold the credibility of GQA, its Centres and the qualifications being offered.
We look forward to your co-operation in this matter.
