Change is here - QCF Seminars for GQA Approved Centres

To support GQA Centres through the transition to the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) we will be running a series of free half day seminars. These sessions will introduce centres to the changes that are taking place in vocational qualification delivery and what the impact of the QCF will be.
Areas covered will include:
• The aims of the QCF
• What is happening to NVQ’s
• The opportunities and benefits for learners, employers and providers
• What centres need to do to offer GQA QCF qualifications

The seminars will be held as follows:

Each seminar will begin at 09.30 and finish at around 13.00.

Denise Clark, BA, MA, MIOD, and GQA will be delivering the seminars. Denise is well placed to deliver the seminars, gaining significant expertise in writing QCF-compliant units of assessment and rules of combination as she was the only consultant engaged in the early QCF tests and trials. Subsequently, developing several suites of QCF units and operating as Project Manager to the FAB/JCQ QCF Readiness Project, Denise has also been closely involved in training awarding organisations to operate in the QCF including “gaining recognition”, unit writing, credit and levelling units, developing rules of combination and disseminating new research and emerging QCF policy.

GQA will also be involved in delivery of the seminars to ensure that you are fully briefed in the requirements of your centre to act as a GQA QCF Approved Centre.

GQA will be running these seminars throughout the UK (with the exception of Scotland) in May and June 2010 and further details on dates and venues will be communicated shortly.

Please note that places on these sessions are strictly limited and as they are free to attend, any non-attendance will incur a fee of £25 and will be invoiced to your centre if you do not cancel your confirmed place at least five working days prior to the event taking place. Substitute delegates will be allowed.
