Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) Update June 2009

• Four GQA SVQ qualifications expired for registration purposes on the 31st May 2009. Candidates currently registered on:
- Automotive Glazing Level 2
- Automotive Glazing Level 3
- Glass Manufacturing Level 3
Have 2/3 years in which to achieve their SVQ

• The last registration date for seven other SVQ qualifications is 31st December 2009, these are:
- Fenestration Installation Level 2
- Fenestration Installation and Surveying Level 3
- Glass Manufacture Level 2
- Glass Processing Level 2
- Glass Processing Level 3
- Production of Glass Supporting Fabrication Level 2
- Production of Glass Supporting Fabrication Level 3

• Work is ongoing to prepare submissions to replace those SVQs in demand ; and new SVQ qualifications are expected to be in place before the current qualifications expire for registration purposes
